Frequently Asked Questions About Our Horticultural Supplies

Q: How do soil amendments containing Mycorrhizal Fungi advance soil fertility?
A: Mycorrhizal Fungi are beneficial "friendly fungi" that act as a secondary root system for trees, plants, turf and shrubs. This root system provides up to a 700% increase in the plant's ability to absorb important nutrients and water, resulting in greater soil fertility.

A natural forest ecosystem has an abundant supply of these symbiotic organisms. The forests are self sustaining and require no fertilization due to these partnerships with fungi.

Mycorrhizal Fungi is scientifically known to:
increase drought tolerance
optimize fertilizer use
increase tolerance to soil salinity
enhance resistance to certain diseases and environmental stresses
improve overall organic soil content and microbial activity

Unlike chemical fertilizers, natural microbial treatments provide a sustainable fertility.

Q: How do our natural, biologically based fertilizer products comply with the Florida County Fertilizer Ordinances?
A: The ordinance states that no fertilizer containing nitrogen or phosphorous may be used from July 1st to Sept. 30th. Flexx FL with Myconate 0-0-20 is a special formulation of potassium and micronutrients for Florida summer applications. Our Flexx FL product was specifically created for use in areas where nitrogen or phosphorus application is restricted.
